Dikwena settle for a draw

Magesi FC’s dominance over Royal AM was clear as daylight, but Dikwena Tša Meetse had to settle for a point at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The match took place on Saturday, 28 September, and after 90 minutes, we played to a goalless draw.

Magesi, however, was on the front foot from the first whistle and could have walked away with maximum points.

Wonderboy Makhubu had an opportunity to give us the lead on the stroke of halftime, but his attempt was saved by Xolani Ngcobo, in goal for the visitors.

The second half went the same way, with Magesi continuing to pile on the pressure on Royal AM, who put on a defensive display.

As a result, Royal AM committed 14 fouls in total, compared to just three for Magesi.

In terms of attack, Magesi had nine corners, and the KwaZulu Natal team produced just two.

As the match came to a close, our technical team made five changes in the second half, bringing in mostly attackers, but a goal was not to be, as the two sides shared the spoils.

The point earned from this clash means Magesi now have four points from four outings and, at the time of writing, was placed 12th on the log.

Magesi’s next Betway Premiership game will be against Cape Town City in the Western Cape on 27 October 2024.
