MAGESI FC AIM FOR MORE SILVERWARE

Magesi FC’s Carling Knockout road to success started at Orlando Stadium and got tongues wagging, until the final.

Dikwena Tša Meetse beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 at the Soweto venue, in the Last 16 round and went all the way to beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the final.

It’s not over yet.

Magesi FC, the reigning Carling Knockout champions, will return to Orlando on December 21 to face the Carling All Stars XI in the Carling Cup.

The Carling All Stars XI will have six current senior players, plus five DStv Diski Challenge stars—with all of them being voted on by fans.

With just over two weeks to go before the clash, Magesi FC assistant coach Papi Zothwane says the team is hungry to add more silverware to our trophy cabinet.

“It’ll be a good history for Magesi to win a second cup in a short space of time. It’ll be a great achievement for the team and as individuals,” stated Coach Papi.

“We can’t go to this match with the mentality that they have five U23s in their team. The All Stars team beat Stellenbosch last season,” he warned.

“When you’ve got players that want to show you they are better, you don’t stand a chance. For Magesi FC, like I said, this would be a great achievement, so we are ready.”
