Magesi FC will look to regroup after losing the last match of the year 2024.
On Sunday, 29 December 2024, Dikwena Tša Meetse went down 1-0 to Orlando Pirates at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in a clash that Magesi FC put on a brave fight.
The match was an entertaining affair, as expected. Six minutes before the break Magesi FC was reduced to 10 men after Lehlogonolo Mokone was shown a red card and on the stroke of halftime, Pirates took the lead and to make matters worse, Magesi FC’s reliable man Wonderboy Makhubu missed a penalty.
It wasn’t over, however.
Magesi FC came back for the second half still hopeful of salvaging a point and Tholang Masegela’s free kick with 19 minutes to go almost brought us back into the match, but Bucs goalkeeper Sipho Chaine was equal to the task.
In the end, it was always going to be a difficult ask for a team one man down and Magesi FC lost by a solitary goal.
Magesi FC’s next match is against TS Galaxy in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, on Saturday, 4 January 2025.
