Magesi FC got off to a bright start, with Wonderboy Makhubu finding the back of the net in the 12th minute.
John Mokone delivered a fantastic cross and Makhubu headed home.
Magesi FC held on to the lead until the 64th minute when the visitors equalised and with just four minutes remaining, Sundowns found the winner.
Magesi FC will now switch focus to the Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash against SuperSport United on Tuesday, 28 January 2025, at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
