On 29 July 2025, all eyes will be on the best Premier Soccer League [PSL] players at the awards ceremony, and Magesi FC skipper Elvis Chipezeze will be in the spotlight too.
Chipezeze, 35, is nominated in two categories; the PSL Goalkeeper of the Season and Carling Knockout Player of the Tournament, after guiding Dikwena Tša Meetse to the League Cup triumph.
With Edmore Chirambadare also nominated for the Carling award, Magesi FC will be well represented, and Chipezeze is pleased for the club.
“Well, it’s an honour being a part of the best players in the country. I’m honoured, and I just want to thank my teammates for the support they’ve given me and the club, the chairman (Dr. Solly Makhubela), and everyone involved in this project,” he tells magesi.co.za.

“Credit must also go to them because it’s all about the team at the end of the day, and as much as we also thrive on individual accolades, at the end of the day the team comes first. Without help from them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
The Zimbabwean international was in fine form across all competitions. In the league, he kept 10 clean sheets in 26 matches, and incredibly, he was Man of the Match in all four matches from the quarter-finals to the final in the Carling Knockout.
Chipezeze is chuffed to have represented Magesi FC well in our maiden season in the top flight of South African football.
“So, personally, I’m excited to be a part and parcel of the best players in the country. To be a part of it is something very special to me, and looking at the journey, where I’ve come from and where I am now, thank you to everyone who has been involved in terms of the transformation of my career.”
The club once again wishes both Chipezeze and Chirambadare the best of luck for the awards ceremony.
