Seven games into the season, Magesi FC remains top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The team’s Head Coach, Kabelo Sibiya, has been one of the instrumental figures behind-the-scenes.
Magesi FC’s media team has shared one of his inspiring dressing room talks, which was during the 3-1 victory over Venda FC at the Thohoyandou Stadium on 17 October 2026. On the day, Dikwena tša Meetse fought back from a goal down to take home the maximum points.
“When you feel that you are getting tired, when you feel like it’s too hard, when you feel the opponents are coming, what you say to yourself at that time, that is what is important,” said Sibiya.

“Not only in football, in life, what is important is what you say to yourself, not what you listen to, that is coming from yourself. What you say, ‘I’m going to push, I’m going to make it, we’re going to win this match, I’m going to score this free kick, I’m going to take a shot, I’m going to deliver, I’m going to go past him’.”
Sibiya added: “You say those things to yourself. You must say those things to yourself. Don’t listen to the critic, what if I try to go past the player, he takes the ball.
“Don’t listen to the critic – that is coming from you. Because we give you guys time to play football, we are not criticising you. So who then criticises you? It’s your inner self. So what you say to yourself will be very important for you. Let’s go out there and win a football match.”
In the next match, Magesi FC will host Gomora United at the Seshego Stadium on Saturday, 24 October 2026.
