Magesi FC was in action on Saturday, 25 July 2026, in the inaugural Mafori Cup played at the Seshego Stadium.
Dikwena Tša Meetse finished as runners-up in the one-day tournament.
In the semi-finals, Kabelo Sibiya’s men managed to beat Venda FC 1-0, courtesy of Bafedile Baloyi’s goal.
Magesi FC then progressed to the final where we met Sekhukhune United.
The Blue Nation’s pride and joy settled for second spot as we lost 1-0 in the decider.
“I’m very happy that we got to the final. It gave me an opportunity to look at all the players,” reflected Head Coach, Kabelo Sibiya.
“In the final, we started with six boys who were in the DDC (DStv Diski Challenge) and we created chances. I’m extremely happy with how we pressed,” he said.
“I’m happy with how the guys applied themselves, but just disappointed that we didn’t win the cup. Overall, I’m happy.”
