Club chief executive John Mathibe has made a passionate plea to the supporters of Magesi Football Club.
Speaking to Energy FM on Monday, 21 October 2024, Mr. Mathibe first acknowledged the ‘Blue Nation’—the cornerstone of the club.
“Firstly, I would like to appreciate the support that they give us. They give us the strength; they give us power, and our boys, when they hear those songs—their names and the management names there—they give all they have,” said the CEO, during an interview with the Polokwane-based radio station.
Mr. Mathibe then took the opportunity to call on Magesi FC’s 12th man—our incredible supporters—to come in numbers and support the team.
“We want to encourage people to come to the stadium and witness history being made. I think this past weekend, we did make history (as we beat Orlando Pirates in the Carling Knockout). I have never seen Pirates being beaten 3-0 at halftime. So now, I want to promise the supporters that we are going to represent them, and we will make them proud.”
Magesi FC have a date with Cape Town City away on Saturday, 27 October 2024, but are also looking forward to hosting Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday, 30 October 2024, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium (19H30), as we look to improve our position on the DStv Premiership standings.
“Next week Wednesday, we play Kaizer Chiefs at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. We will appreciate the supporters coming to the match in big numbers,” added Mr. Mathibe.
