CHIPEZEZE HAILS MAGESI FC

Like a true leader, Magesi FC captain Elvis Chipezeze has paid a glowing tribute to Dikwena Tša Meetse.

Chipezeze, 34, was one of Magesi’s stars as we triumphed in the 2024 Carling Knockout, beating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the final at the Toyota Stadium.

Chipezeze’s heroics in Bloemfontein earned him a fourth straight Man of the Match award, an incredible feat that has seen him pocket R400 000 in prize money and he will certainly be in the conversation for the Player of the Tournament award.

Chipezeze, however, said credit must go to the whole team.

“We just came into this game, knowing we’re the underdogs; no one expected us to win, to be quite frank,” Chipezeze asserted.

“But credit must go to the boys. The coach (Clinton Larsen) has been drilling us. Sometimes we felt like giving up, but these are the results you see today. Personal accolades might come, but I have to make sure that the fans are happy all the time.”

Chipezeze added: “We just thought it’s a one-off game; anything can happen.”
