Dikwena DDC welcome Chiefs to Polokwane

Magesi FC’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team will give Kaizer Chiefs a run for their money on Sunday, 29 September, according to our coach.

The two sides meet at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium at 10H00.

Magesi FC is placed sixth on the DDC log, while Chiefs is second. Both teams have played four matches.

On paper, it appears it would be a tough outing for both sides and Magesi DDC Head Coach, Timothy Madia, expects nothing less.

“The boys have promised us a win (over Chiefs),” says Madia, ahead of the clash.

“We are still new in this division, but if you checked the first and second game (against Stellenbosch and Mamelodi Sundowns), my boys were a bit shaky. I think it was stage fright. Now they are gelling in terms of the shape and the tempo of the game,” Madia continues.

Magesi DDC opened the 2024/25 season with a 1-1 home draw against Stellenbosch in Polokwane, before achieving a big 2-1 win against Sundowns at Giant Stadium in Soshanguve, Pretoria.

The last match was against the neighbours Polokwane City and it ended 1-1.

It’s work in progress, according to Madia and yet Chiefs can expect a tough match.

“My boys are learning everyday and we will approach this game the same way. We are not going to give Chiefs time to play and we will press them, highly so and we will keep our shape all the time.

“I think we will get something out of Sunday’s game,” concludes Madia.

Magesi FC boosts a lot of promising talent, notably goalkeeper Sechaba Khota and the likes of Neo Ntombela in attack.
