Magesi FC will go back to the drawing board following the 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City in the Limpopo Derby.
The two sides locked horns at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 21 September, in what was Magesi FC’s first home game of the Betway Premiership 2024/25 season.
The visitors scored on either side of the break through Puleng Marema and Sibusiso Tshabalala, in the 30th and 73rd minute respectively.
Magesi FC started off well and at some point in the first half, had the lion’s share of ball possession that resulted in some good attacks, notably Anathi Ngwadla finding the back of the net in the 13th minute. To the crowd’s disappointment, the goal was ruled out for offside. Close call.

Clinton Larsen’s men then suffered a setback with Polokwane City going ahead on the half hour mark, but Magesi continued to take the game to Polokwane City.
The second half saw Magesi camp in Polokwane City’s half and with the crowd in our corner, there were many positive plays, especially when the substitute Rhulani Manzini’s free kick was saved by Manuel Sapunga, in goal for Polokwane City.
Magesi FC will now turn their attention to the away match against Golden Arrows on Wednesday, 25 September.
The game will be played at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu Natal, with kick off set for 19H30.
