Elvis Chipezeze pockets R100 000

Magesi FC captain Elvis Chipezeze led by example as Dikwena Tša Meetse progressed to the Carling Knockout 2024 Quarterfinals at the expense of Orlando Pirates.

For his efforts in the resounding 3-0 win over the Buccaneers in Soweto, Gauteng, the Zimbabwean international received R100 000, as voted for by the fans, as per Carling Knockout rules.

Chipezeze, 34, was in fine form and showed great experience to guide Dikwena Tša Meetse to a historic win.

In receiving his award, Magesi FC’s number one was full of praise for his teammates.

“Firstly, I want to thank all the fans that voted for me. Like I said before, without them, we are nothing,” Chipezeze asserted.

“Coming to the game, it was difficult. We know Pirates is one of the big teams, not only in South Africa, but we stuck to the game plan with the experience that we have and the young boys that are coming through,” he said.

“It’s very important for us to go through to the quarterfinals because we are new babies in the League. We are here to serve and entertain our supporters,” added Chipezeze.

Catch the Carling Knockout Quarterfinals draw on Sunday, 20 October 2024, live on SABC 1 and SuperSport TV.
