The MEC for Sport, Arts, and Culture in Limpopo, Mr. Funani Jerry Maseko, has heaped praise on Magesi Football Club for reaching the 2024 Carling Knockout Final.
In the same breath, Mr. Maseko has wished the club well in the final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Let me take this opportunity, on behalf of the government of Limpopo, to wish our local PSL team, Magesi FC, a very successful Carling Black Label Cup final against Mamelodi Sundowns, which is scheduled to play on Saturday, the 24th of November 2024, in Free State,” said Mr. Maseko.
“As a province, we want to assure you of our support. We will rally behind you in this very important final, which is historical to you as a team.”
“We have positively observed that since your promotion to the PSL, you’ve never looked back but rather strengthened your technical (team) capacity, which has instilled discipline and commitment to the entire team under the leadership of Caoch Clinton Larsen and the assistant coaches Jacky Ledwaba and Papi Zothwane,” he continued.
“It’s a job well done you guys as a collective for having reached the final, but we will also love to thank the visionary leadership of Dr. (Solly) Makhubela, the club chairman, for his focus and leadership in ensuring that the team becomes intact. The team has shown a high level of class, particularly when we play the big teams like Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.”
“We are in collaboration with yourselves as a team to ensure that we secure transport for our supporters (traveling to the final), and we are confident that the cup would be brought back to Limpopo after the game. Go and represent your province with diligence. Go and represent your province with vigor, and may God lead you in that process. God luck and all the best,” added Mr. Maseko.
