In what was an interesting clash, Magesi DDC suffered a 3-1 defeat to SuperSport United DDC on Saturday, 23 November 2024.
The DStv Diski Challenge match took place at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Magesi DDC started on the back foot having conceded an early goal, but a great one-on-one save by Sechaba Khota, in goal for the home side, kept our hopes alive for a fight back.
By the interval, the score was 1-0 to the visitors, but the game, at this stage, was evenly balanced.
The second stanza saw SuperSport United score two goals to increase their lead to 3-0, but Magesi DDC didn’t throw in the towel and late on, the boys were awarded a penalty and guess who scored from the spot kick? Our keeper, Khota, to make it 3-1, but there wasn’t enough time for more goals.
This was Magesi DDC’s last match of the year 2024.
For now, Magesi DDC will go back to the drawing board, recharge the batteries, and return to action with an away fixture against Sekhukhune United on 19 January 2025.
