Magesi DDC shine despite defeat to Chiefs

There’s a glimmer of hope for Magesi FC’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team despite suffering a setback against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, 29 September.

The young Dikwena conceded in the second half to lose 1-0 in a tightly-contested clash at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Magesi DDC is eighth on the standings after our first defeat of the season. We have also won one and drew three.

The clash against the young Amakhosi showed Magesi DDC is not in the League to add to the numbers, but rather to compete.

In our attack, Karabo Seroto had some great chances and he would be encouraged that he gave Chiefs defenders a run for their money. Wide on the wing, Anathi Ngwadla, main picture, had Chiefs’ defence in tatters on a few occasions. In general, Ngwadla was outstanding.

In goal, Sechaba Khota proved once again that he’s one for the future. Chiefs had their chances, but Khota was equal to the task when called upon. The young goalkeeper has received rave reviews for his distribution and organization of the defence, but one of his best qualities is certainly his positioning and he was able to thwart some attacks from Chiefs.

Magesi DDC skipper Letelo Mobbie was also outstanding in defence, while Karabo Marule shone too.

Next up for the boys is Orlando Pirates, who we face on Saturday, 5 October, at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, at 10H00.

Further details of the match will be communicated in due course.

Magesi DDC will yet again look to impress and maintain its position in the top half of the table.

Magesi DDC line up that faced Chiefs: Sechaba Khota (GK), Thato Mpati, Mahudu Raphesu, Letelo Mobbie ©️, Maditwane Tjao, Karabo Marule, Robert Ntshintshi, Karabo Seroto, Thulare Moetlo, Neo Ntombela, Anathi Ngwadla.
