MAGESI LOSE TO STELLENBOSCH

Magesi FC has gone down to Stellenbosch in a Betway Premiership clash played at the Danie Craven Stadium.

Dikwena Tša Meetse lost the match 2-1.

Magesi FC got off to a bad start, with Mzwandile Buthelezi unfortunate to turn the ball into his own net in the 21st minute.

Five minutes later, Owen Da Gama’s boys found the equaliser when Buthelezi used his head to flick the ball to Given Mashikinya, who applied the finish to make it 1-1.

Before the break, Magesi FC conceded the second and as both sides headed down the tunnel for further instructions, the home side was leading 2-1.

The Cape Town wind made play difficult in the second half, but Magesi continued to search for the equaliser and Thabang Sibanyoni came close in the 85th minute, but his header was tipped over the bar by Sage Stephens.

The match ended 2-1 in favour of the home side.

Magesi FC will look to bounce back when we host SuperSport United at the Seshego Stadium on Saturday, 1 March 2025.
