Magesi FC has made another big statement in South Africa’s top-flight by reaching the semi-finals of the Carling Knockout 2024.
The Blue Nation’s pride and joy saw off TS Galaxy in the quarter-finals, winning 1-0 at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, 3 November 2024.
Lehlogonolo Mokone scored the all-important goal on the stroke of halftime, and putting together another disciplined defensive display in the second half, Dikwena Tša Meetse ensured we reached the semis and we are now just one step away from reaching the decider.
Magesi FC’s defence was resolute in the face of attack, and the captain, Elvis Chipezeze, was once again instrumental, making five key saves to keep TS Galaxy at bay.
Chipezeze was named Man of the Match for the second cup match running after his heroics against Orlando Pirates in the previous round.
For the two awards, Chipezeze has bagged R200 000.
While the defence has kept its shape, Magesi FC has managed to capitalize in key moments, the same way we managed to get the goal just before the break.
It is this kind of unity that has seen the team go six games unbeaten across all competitions, and with our cup dream alive, the Blue Nation’s continuous backing will be key to see us get over the line and re-write history.
