MAGESI WIN LIMPOPO DERBY

Thabang Sibanyoni’s first half strike was enough to earn Magesi FC maximum points against Polokwane City, and claim the bragging rights.

Dikwena Tša Meetse edged Rise and Shine 1-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday, 18 February 2025.

Magesi FC looked on course for back-to-back wins in the Betway Premiership when Sibanyoni scored in the 20th minute with a diving header from a well-taken free kick by the indispensable Mcedi Vandala.

Sibanyoni was back at it ten minutes into the second half when the striker’s acrobatic effort was kept out by Polokwane City goalkeeper, Manuel Sapunga.

While Magesi FC searched for more goals, Chipezeze, in our goal, ensured the lead was preserved with some good saves.

Ultimately, it was Magesi FC’s night as we ran out winners to claim not only the three points, but also the bragging rights.

For his efforts, Sibanyoni, pictured below, was named the Man of the Match.

How Magesi FC lined up: Chipezeze ©️, J. Mokone, L. Mokone, Makgoga, Abrahams, Komane, Darpoh, Kakora, Mtshali (Makhubela 82′), Vandala, Sibanyoni.
