Mokone hails Magesi FC’s fighting spirit

One of Magesi FC’s best traits is teamwork; its ability to fight for each other on and off the pitch.

Whether in the lead or trailing, the team fights its cause as a unit.

Off the pitch, the supporters always find their voice until the final whistle, in support of Dikwena Tša Meetse.

A player who epitomises these specific quality is none other defender, Lehlogonolo Mokone.

The lad from Seleteng in Ga-Mphahlele, Limpopo, has shown a tremendous fighting spirit and has featured in all four of our Betway Premiership games this season.

Speaking to Magesi FC’s media team, Mokone has backed the team to fight for each other from the first to the final whistle and to continue in the next match until the end of the season. This way, he believes, Magesi FC’s future is bright in the top-flight.

“We are new in this league, and we’ve tried to adjust, coming from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the Betway Premiership… I think we would be more okay as the games come by,” stated Mokone.

“What has impressed me about the team is that they are willing to learn,” he continued.

Given his contribution, you’d expect the 30-year-old to be happy with the fact that he has started four games. However, he’s looking forward to doing more.

“I believe I’m playing because of the hard work I’m putting in, and I’ll do my best to keep pushing so that I play more games and help the team achieve its objectives. We have to understand that every mistake is punished in the Betway Premiership, so we have to keep improving. This league needs a lot of focus, determination, and hard work. Because one slip up, you could concede and you could lose a match,” he said.

As for his parting shot, Mokone has urged the ‘Blue Nation’—our 12th man—to continue to fill up the stands in support of the boys.

“They’ve been there for us; they were there from last season when we won the league, and even now, they are still there. What we can promise them as a team, or what I could promise them, is that we will always give our all. I believe giving our all can help the team put  smiles on their faces. I’d like to thank them for the support,” Mokone concluded.

After all, Magesi FC is all about teamwork.
