New signing Delano Abrahams has fitted in like a glove to hand at Magesi Football Club.
Abrahams, who hails from Kimberley in the Northern Cape, was brought on board following a great season while he was in the books of the University of Pretoria.
Like duck to the water, the 33-year-old has made four appearances this season and in some way, justified the club’s decision to sign him. It speaks to a club that was not only competing last season but also keeping an eye on talent in the Motsepe Foundation Championship to boost its ranks.
It’s of course still early days, but there are signs that Abrahams may end up being one of the best signings in the Betway Premiership.
For now, though, his focus is on staying humble and maintaining consistency alongside his teammates.
“I’m delighted to be a part of the Magesi FC family; a very united team, and the brotherly love is there. The environment we are working in is good. There is love amongst each other. It’s something to build on going forward,” Abrahams told our media team.

Flashscore, a company that offers live football scores, results, and statistics, rated Abrahams 7.1/10 and 7.0/10 for the matches against Golden Arrows and Royal AM, respectively. In short, it was a decent run by our defender.
“I’m a professional, so I need to do my part as a player whether in defence or attack,” Abrahams reacted.
“I wouldn’t say I’m happy with my contribution, because in our first two matches (against Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City), we conceded three goals. In the third and fourth matches (against Arrows and Royal AM), we didn’t concede a goal, so on that note, you can say we really improved, and we have to build on that. I’ll be happy to contribute to that,” he said.
With his birthday coming up on November 4, Abrahams’s wish is to keep his place and fight for Magesi FC.
“Personally, for me, it’s to have a good season… Try to do my utmost best every time I get an opportunity to play and stay injury-free,” Abrahams added.
