Magesi FC has picked up one more point in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) following a 2-2 draw with Chippa United.
Young Dikwena came from a goal down at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 12 October 2024, and could have walked away with all points.
The visitors from the Eastern Cape took a lead after just a few minutes in the first stanza, but Magesi FC hit back through Clement Moshwana from the penalty spot.
It was then the turn of Karabo Marule to give us a lead, and we were 2-1 up by the interval.
Magesi FC suffered a couple of setbacks in the second half that allowed Chippa United to equalise.
The hosts were down to 10 men when Chippa made it 2-2, while the dangerman, Moshwana, was receiving treatment on the sidelines after getting injured.
Moshwana returned to the pitch only to be subbed off a minute later when it was clear he couldn’t continue.
Despite the setback, Magesi FC held on for a point, and at the time of writing, we had reclaimed eighth spot.
Magesi DDC’s next assignment is another home clash as we take on Richards Bay on Saturday, 19 October 2024.
